We interrupt your regular The Other Maine posting schedule for an important announcement. I have been sitting on a big surprise for the past two months, and now I finally get to tell people: next week I’ll be appearing on Jeopardy!
No, I’m not kidding. I got to hold the buzzer. I got to see the big screen. I got to meet Ken Jennings (or, as he’s known in our house, Jen Kennings). I got to be in the house Trebek built. It was, as you might expect, awesome.
Tune in this Wednesday, Sept. 23 to see me go toe to toe with my fellow nerds. Jeopardy! airs weeknights at 7:30 p.m. EST on your local ABC affiliate in Maine; elsewhere, you can check your local listings. You know what time Jeopardy! is on, don’t you? Of course you do. It’s Jeopardy!
You have no idea how hard it’s been to keep my mouth shut all this time. I somehow managed to go to California last month and only a select few people knew what I was doing, or that I was even going at all! I still can’t believe this actually happened to me. Later on, I will share a full story about my Jeopardy! journey. Spoiler alert: it starts in elementary school. If you know me, you know that’s probably not really a spoiler because of the, you know, everything about me. I read encyclopedias for fun. Going on Jeopardy! feels very me-coded.
