This Week's Haul, Feb. 5: Abbreviated vacation edition
I was on a beach! Can you blame me?!
Good morning from somewhere over the eastern seaboard, most likely, where right as this post goes up, I am on my way back to Maine after six days in beautiful Tulum, Mexico. I have visited Mayan ruins and floated in ancient canals and cenotes. I have eaten my weight in tacos and tamales and had an unspeakable number of margaritas and mezcalitas. I have seen many cool birds and purchased several knick knacks and tchotchkes. I have met many wonderful people. I have managed to avoid a sunburn whilst spending lots of time in the sun. Te amo, Mexico.
Because of this, the haul this week will be an abbreviated one. There’s much to talk about later, of course, from conservative ding-dongs continuing to be utter ding-dongs, to the final nail in the coffin for the good name of a once-legendary Maine politician, to the fact that hey, that Bangor candy and gift shop that I told you about back in November is now open and it’s awesome! For now, here’s your weekly haul. See you again on Tuesday, when I’ve (hopefully) come to grips with the fact that I’ve returned to the land of ice and show.
